Russell Athletic Performance Cotton T Shirt

Russell Athletic Performance Cotton T Shirt

My Fellow Alex tell us I’m very picky about t-shirts, let me tell you why these are some of the best.

Years ago I had a small epiphany: I realized that every time I went into the t-shirt drawer to grab a shirt, I was always (almost subconsciously) hoping that my favorite couple of shirts was in there, and I would be a bit disappointed when I had to grab another one. So I decided that going forward my wardrobe would contain ONLY my favorite types of shirt.

The main problem with that is the fact that the overwhelming majority of t-shirts (regardless of how much you pay) are total crap. They are thin and flimsy, the fit isn’t good, and they aren’t as comfortable as they should be.

So, ever since then I’ve tried to find the best possible t-shirts and this is one of them. The other is the Hanes “Beefy-T” but those are super thick 100% cotton and not ideal for all situations.

These Russel shirts are the BEST blended shirts in the world (meaning they are made with a blend of cotton and synthetic fibers). They fit EXCELLENT. They are just lose enough to be comfortable but not so loose that they look sloppy. That means that you can wear the shirt out (if you want) and not just wear them to bum around the house. The fabric is very durable even after years of use and the colors don’t fade. The synthetic fibers keep you cool and the cotton feels great agains your skin.

I highly recommend these shirts.

My Buddy MOPARGUY said Nice Shirt w/reasonable price but Russell sold out to the Devil!.

So far these T shirts fit almost like the original over 10 year old shirts with no rips or tears.
I looked up Russel Athletic and found that they were still in business. Two things really piss me off though. My original shirts that last forever are made in USA. Their add eludes that the shirts are still USA. It pisses me off that their shirts are no longer made in the USA. It sickens me that a manufacturer formerly of the USA who produce A # 1 quality garments! This defies the fact that US does not make quality goods! Shame on you Rusell Athletics- Shame on you! Greed took over. You make more$$$$ but you put people out of work! Evan

My friend GILDO say AWESOME GO-TO SHIRTS.

I bought these because my XL shirts are too big for me and I needed to go down a size. I usually buy Hemp shirts because of the comfort...but at $30/shirt I was willing to take a chance on something else. I've had Russell products in the past and I recall them being the go-to outfitter when I was in school. These are awesome to wear during the summer and to the gym. Mine are holding up nicely in the wash and the color has not faded nor have they shrunk. These are so cheap that if you are on the fence just do it. I originally wanted to buy Under Armour t-shirts.....with Russell I was able to buy 3 for the price of one UA shirt. I like the logo on bottom and some have the logo on the sleeve...all 3 of my Russell shirts are different but all 3 are holding up fine and look good. I'd say this is a medium weight shirt....i've had thinner.

My friend Amazon Customer said Very thin material.

I've owned a number of Russell brand t-shirts over the years and these are made from by far the thinnest material I've ever seen in one of their shirts. I don't know why men's t-shirts all of a sudden started getting made from tissue paper thin material. I bought some Russell tees just a few years ago and they were made from a much heavier material. Maybe these are specifically meant for Amazon?

It's still pretty well made and there's nothing wrong with these shirts, but I prefer a heavier shirt. They also run a bit small for my liking. They call them "cotton" shirts but they are actually a cotton/polyester blend? If you're a fan of modern, paper thin tees that are kind of tight then these will be fine for you.

My Buddy Excalibur1952 experience and they still look like new after dozens of washes.

Somewhat thinner fabric material than other colors in this product line, which does not fare well in the wash after a few rounds of washing - fabric pills. I bought this product thinking that a polyester mix fabric would be pill resistant, unlike typical cotton fabric, but not so, it seems. Incidentally, I bought the same product line (different color) years back from a store, and they still look like new after dozens of washes. Im still evaluating other colors in this line that I bought along with this one, will update this review later.

My friend Alan say Great Basic Shirt!.

Wasn’t sure what to expect of this product. For the price you can’t beat it! Bought one to try at first and loved the way it fits on me. I’m in between medium and large. For size reference I purchased medium and I am 5’11” & 175lb This shirt fits just right. Even after washing and drying there is not much shrinkage. I love wearing it for working out and just wearing them in general. They aren’t too thin and aren’t too thick. Everything fits as expected. Have this classic oxford, heather black, and heather navy they all have the same fitment.

My Old Neighbor Max_Power say Great fit and extremely comfortable.

This is my "Goldie-Locks" of t-shirts. I wanted a t-shirt that was ultra comfortable that I could work out in that wasn't too thin or too thick, not too long or too short, not too loose or too tight. I tried multiple brands and figured out that these Russell Athletic shirts were the ones that fit my needs. I have broad shoulders and a large back and chest. These shirts fit my body shape very well. I don't care for the dry-fit shirts. I like the feel of cotton or a cotton/poly blend against my skin. In addition to working out these are great for every day wear and lounging around in as well.

My Buddy Mr. James Talk OK and a fair price but not as thick as I like my tee shirts to be..

I buy a lot of Russel Tee Shirts. This time I ordered 3 different colors. Navy, Dark Green and Maroon. I would say these are OK but not a lot to brag about. The colors are representative of what is advertised, they do fit as expected but the material seemed a bit thin to me. Fair price but for Russell, I was a bit disappointed.

My Old Neighbor HappyTrader Talk ALLERGIC REACTION.

The shirts, as all Russell I've bought so far, are excellent shirts. No problem with the quality of the product. But, I didnt read the description close enough to notice antibacterial agents used in this shirt. I broke out with a rash all over my chest and back. I had mine printed with a business logo to use on the job and that was one miserable day. I washed them all (bought several) in very hot water for three cycles and I seem to have removed most of the chemicals, but I am leery of ever wearing these again. I will still buy Russell products but will avoid anything that even hints of antibacterial or other chemical agents.

My Buddy Richard say My first just arrived, and I just bought two more in different colors (edited).

Worn once, for all I know it will fall apart, second wash. HOWEVER, I very much like this T shirt. I am six foot, 165, skinny and strong. A medium fits me perfectly, not tight, not loose. For eight bucks total? Give this shirt a try. You can buy four for the same price as one Nike or UA wicking shirt. EDITED after receiving additional shirts..... I've lowered my rating from five to four stars. My first shirt was "vintage heather navy", and appears to be a slightly better quality material than the two colors which I ordered subsequently. And given what appears to be a slightly thinner product, the medium is just slightly too tight on my mature chest. Still a bargain, but I'll be careful about how and where I wear them. If you're a slim college kid with big guns, get this shirt.
