Cooling Gaiter Bandana Headband Scarf
My Fellow Sunshine said Much, much better than I was expecting.
I've tried cooling towels before, and they were ok but felt strange and clammy and would dry weirdly and crack. This was the first time I'd tried this design, and it is nothing like my previous experiences. It's comfortable, works well, and is easy to maintain. This works especially great when I bring along ice water in my insulated water bottle and douse it and put it on when I'm done exercising. I've been using it a lot the past few weeks after running outside when it's been hovering around 100° and humid in Texas, and I've cooled down much more quickly.
I would be remiss if I forgot to mention that the UPF was another big factor for me (redhead in the sun in Texas), and it's perfect for protecting my neck - much better for me and the environment than sunscreen. I've been trying to cover up more and use less sunscreen, and this does that job for a sensitive area.
I am ordering a second one now.
My Old Man john experience working outside in Florida summers..
I work outside every day. Including during Florida's south west brutal summers. People ask me on a weekly basis how I do it and how do I stay cool and hydrated. WELL . THIS IS HOW> I have about 10 of these and wear one around my neck every day. Don't be fooled by similar brands that are a different material. This sheds moisture and heat. The other brands i have tried are so hot you might as well be wearing a wool scarf .
Only con: is over time after constant use The band stretches and doesn't make a tight fit around my nose when i pull it up to block from dust or debris. But for the price its a no brainer to just throw it out and buy a new one after this happens.
My Old Chap Mdw77 experience Staying Cool.
This scarf or wrap is fantastic because it is easy to use. Just wet it and pull on over hair or neck. For years I've been using bandanna's or hand towels around my neck when doing outdoor work and they always end up falling off. With the loop design it stays in place and probably looks a bit less farm hand. In the south, where humidity is so high that you can be sweating at 7 am, this is a life saver.
My friend debra chadderdon tell us love that I can clip it on my backpack-purse.
Got this as summer will be here soon.Have MS, I can't afford to get hot quickly, love that I can clip it on my backpack-purse.
Love the material, works with my body temperature to keep me cooled down.I live in the south so the weather turns on a dime.
My Old Neighbor Jackie B tell us If you sweat to much while wearing a face mask... this product is for you!.
This is exactly what I looking for. We now have to wear a face covering at work and I sweat...ALOT.
Not only does this work to keep me cold, its also very comfortable to wear.
Dunk in cold water, wring it and snap it and it WORKS for several hours.
My Buddy MexicanRadio tell us Versatile.
You can use a buff like this in all sorts of ways. Bandanna, head scarf, on your wrist, on your neck, over your nose and mouth. There are many possible choices for use, all easily found on-line. Purchased for use in our desert climate, for keeping out dust on off-road runs, and/or for providing some cooling by soaking it and wearing it around one's neck or on your head. In typical desert climate it works well, although a slightly heavier or denser construction would be nicer for those times when you want to soak it with water for cooling, by reducing the number of times you'll have to re-soak it.
Note: Since evaporation is what drives any cooling, this (and any similar item) may not serve well for cooling in humid climates, where the evaporation rate is very low. That's not a defect, just simple physics.
My friend Illustrious Talk I wish I could buy one of these for everyone I know now :0.
I finally got to test it out today! Instantly cooled me down, I love it. In the past I've used a necktie cooling scarf that was filled with beads and died after 3 months or so... this one feels like it'll last a lot long, and since it's a tube, I just turn it around when it starts to warm up and usually the other side is still cool (otherwise, just need more water, and thankfully I always have a water source near me at my work so that isn't a concern)
My Old Man Kim said Stays in place, doesn’t go against your mouth as much as other brands.
This grey gaiter is my favorite among many different types/brands that I have. At first I was concerned about it staying in place because I saw it didn’t have a drawstring but it fit me perfectly and stays in place well. I’m not sure if it’s the shape of the gaiter or the texture of the cloth or both but this one doesn’t go up against my mouth as much as other brands. I can’t breathe well through my nose, especially when running, so that’s important to me. It also doesn’t feel as choke-y as some brands/styles. Overall I’m very happy with it. Much easier to run in than a regular mask. I only use it for outdoor running and find a regular mask feels more protective for other activities.
My Buddy Attila Von Stryker say Versatile, Effective and Attractive.
I cut grass all day in 90+ degree heat and this thing is a lifesaver. Love that I can change the configuration to cover my mouth in dusty conditions or just wear it like a bandana when it is cooler. Just re-wet and wring it out and I am good for hours before I need to repeat the process.
My Old Neighbor MK_XXXIX said MOST IMPRESSIVE!.
This snazzy, easy to apply cooling headband really does work quite well at keeping me from drowning in my own sweat, that I deal with on a more or less daily basis, being from hot, muggy, HUMID South Florida…
I'll admit… I was skeptical at first whether the whole "Cooling Action" effect that Tough Outfitters claims would really work as well as they say or make a bit of difference, but after briefly running it under the faucet, then ringing it out and snapping it a few times, it actually does have a cooler feel… HOORAH!
And besides that, it certainly works wonders at keeping all of the eye-stinging sweat that undoubtedly accumulates on my forehead from inevitably dripping into my eyes… which we all know can be extremely irritating and uncomfortable!
So, if you're an outdoors person or just happen to live in a hot, humid environment, like myself, then I would highly recommend purchasing one of these unique, cooling fabric type headbands!
